AIM: TO LEARN ABOUT WATER ON EARTH.
Scientific words
- Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
- Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
- Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
- Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
- Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.
THE WATER CYCLE SONG
Title: The Water Cycle Experiments
Purpose: To help you learn about the water cycle so you know what the teacher is talking about in science class.
Materials:
-
2 x A4 sized zip lock bags.
-
Vivid marker
-
Litmus paper
-
50mls soda water
-
50mls water
-
Baking soda
-
Blue food colouring
-
20cm double-sided tape (10cm per bag)
-
teaspoon
Procedures:
-
Draw the earth with a mountain and land with plants on the land (leave a place for the sea/ocean) (Lable what they are)
-
Draw clouds and water vapor going into the sky also add it coming down (Lable what they are)
-
Repeat the previous two-steps on the other bag.
-
Open one of the bags and put 50mls of water into the bag.
-
Add two drops of blue food coloring into the bag with water in it.
-
Zip the bag up and tape it to a window.
-
Open the second bag and add 50mls of soda water into the bag.
-
Add one teaspoon of baking soda to the soda water
-
Add two drops of blue food coloring to the soda water bag.
-
Put Litmus paper at the top of the bag and zip it up.
-
Tape it to a window.

The Water Cycle
|
Acid Water Cycle
| |
Does it cycle?
| 2 | 2 |
Amount of Water
| 2 | 1 |
Acidity
| 0 | 1.5 |
The normal water cycle did cycle well and there was heaps of water but had zero acidity in it.
The acid water cycle did cycle and there was a bit of water but not too much and had some acidity that wasn't that much to be a two but was still heaps
Key: Water and acidity amount: 0 = none
1 = small
2 = large
Other comments:
our water cycle experiment worked and I really enjoyed it.
Conclusion:

My water cycle experiment worked and now I know how to do the experiment now.
