Great Depression.

Why was Germany hit the hardest by the great depression:

The Germans were hit hard from the Great Depression and there are obvious clues hinting at why they might have been hit the hardest from the war. This is very bad for the Germans and their economy especially since they were coming off a war that they had lost. They also had to sign the treaty of Versailles and that forced them to have 5.9 million people lose their jobs as their army had to be cut from 6 million people to 100 thousand people. Germany also were put into heaps of debt after having to pay off the cost of the war which cost them a total of 6 billion dollars and they didn't pay it off till 2010 so that would cost their economy more. To make matters worse the US wanted some of their money back so they made the Germans pay off their debts that they have with the US. They also were trying to sort out the government as there were changes and many people in Germany came back after the war so there were more people in their country. Because of these circumstances, the effect that the great depression had on Germany was severe.

What did Germany have to agree to by signing the treaty of Versailles?

The Germans after the war were offered to sign a treaty, this treaty was the Treaty of Versailles. At first, the Germans didn't want to sign this treaty because it was made to take power away from Germany so they thought they just wouldn't show up to sign the treaty. When they did not show all the other countries that signed the treaty began to threaten them and said that if they didn't sign the treaty they would take over their land. The Germans ended up signing the treaty but they weren't happy especially because they had to pay off heaps of things and lose most of their army. The Germans were forced to reduce their army from six million all the way down to one hundred thousand. Germany also had to pay off all the damage from the war which would cost them 132 billion gold marks or 33 billion USD. Not only that they also lost all of the lands they had got from the french and other occupied territories and colonies. They also lost all of their battleships and submarines, military aircraft, and artillery, all they were left with was 6 small battleships. The Germans were not happy with having to sign the treaty and lose all of these things that had, plus to make it worse the US wanted the Germans to pay off their debt to them as well.

How was NZ affected by the great depression:

Not surprisingly New Zealand was a country affected by the Great Depression. This isn't unusual for most countries at this time as things like the export market and investments dropped heaps which started to affect the rest of the world apart from Russia. For a country like New Zealand, this was truly tuff as a big chunk of their economy was from exports. Now since fewer people from around the world wanted to buy things from us which caused heaps of people in our agricultural industry to lose their jobs. Since we are an agricultural country this would have caused the economy in our country to crash and the New Zealand economy would have lost heaps of money. This shows the Great Depression would have been devastating for New Zealand and the rest of the world.

My Wellbeing goals:

In the past 3 weeks, we have been doing different tasks to help us reach three well-being goals. The Goals I was doing were 1: Making a morning routine and following it. 2: Drink more water 3: Talk to my friends more at home. All of these tasks have helped and I and my well-being and it has had many other benefits than just my basic wellbeing. In New Zealand, there is a huge issue as we have some of the highest suicide rates in the world and we want everyone in the country to be happier and healthier. This can be caused by things like bullying or the way people treat others.
