Is sustainable fishing possible?
Sustainable fishing seems like it should be fairly easy to be possible. On paper many people this is an easy task and people thinks is normal and what they do at sea. At sea, they don't care about rules and they get a heap of bycatch. This should be very hard to stop and manage since no one can always be out on the sea and even if they are many people who are on sea supervising this can be bribed so that they seem sustainable. Even the label dolphin-safe said that they can't guarantee that they sell products that are really dolphin-safe.
How is commercial fishing a threat to dolphins and birdlife (bycatch)?
Each year heaps of dolphins and birds are killed and in the last year 300000 whales, dolphins, and birdlife were killed by people who are fishing. The Fench coast alone had killed over 10000 dolphins. There was one tuna boat the killed 45 dolphins to get only 8 tuna. As a result of these terrible fishing practices, many animals in the sea are dying when humans are fishing for other animals that arent them. Humans are a huge threat to sea life and the ocean as we are the issue and we cause the issue.
Nice blog Tobey, I like how you added the dolphin stuck in a fishing net and next time you should make the questions in bold.
