Scenario
Scenario
A crime has been committed. The police have a signed cheque and a letter from the same crime scene but it seems like the handwriting is different. They have 3 suspects but not enough evidence. They need to know if the letter and the cheque were written by the same person.
How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are the same?
How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are the same?
Rainbow paper
Materials;
1. Cup
2. Chromatography paper
3. Felt tip pens
4. Water
Process:
Step 2: fold the paper onto to side of the cup so it isn't touching the bottom of the cup.
Step 3: slowly pore hot water into the cup until it is just touching the felt markings.
Step 4: wait ten minutes until the water is full soaked in.
Step 5:After ten minutes you will start to see the paper change colors because of the felt tip pens.
Step 6: Take out paper and then look at the rainbow color made.
Conclusion: What have I learnt from this experiment?
It also can be used for fun and the reason why the reactions happen is because the ink reacts and the color goes up the paper with the water so it make a colorful rainbow.
