Recently in class, we have been learning about our culture.

I made a DLO about our culture here is mine:

Term 1 Home EC Colour, texture and flavour

 

This term we have been learning about how color texture and flavor are important in any dish you make.

This is important because if you have all three of these things is important in the dishes we have made because they make our food look better and we get more inclined to eat it.

Our dishes have shown this and the flavor texture and color make the dish a lot better and it tastes and looks more appetizing.

The dishes that turned out the best had the most color and therefore had the best flavor.

Sexxxy Paragraph

In the prison scene in the power of one camera angles are used to show fear in the prisoners like Geel Piet. In this scene they use camera angles that make the guard look big and scary, this shot also shows how the guards look down onto the prisoners. This was used in this scene because in the prison only the white people are treated well. This shows that the guards thought that the black people deserved to be punished for being black and that they can control them. The low angle combined with the lighting makes the guards look big and strong and the prisoners look scared and afraid. This can be linked with the performance scene when the prisoners are getting looked down on and the guards and made to be big and better.

In the performance scene in the Power Of One lighting is used to show how the prisoners were afraid. In the scene, the lighting used was a dark color in the night which helped to make a dark and scary atmosphere. This helps to foreshadow what is about to happen to Geel Piet a native South African. The purpose of this was to make the atmosphere scarier and to show that Geel Piet was about to have something happen to him. This makes the audience feel a connection to Geel Piet and makes what is going to happen to him sadder. This works well with the tone of voice used by the actors to show fear and sadness in Geel Piet's voice. This can be compared with the boxing scene when P.k. fights Gideon Duma because in this scene the lighting and living conditions they were given were similar to the prison and the performance scene.

In the boxing scene when P.K. and Gideon Duma were boxing to settle something, long shots were used effectively. In this scene, the long shot was used to show the native South Africans who were surrounding the boxing ring to see what was about to happen. This was used to show

What causes acid rain?

This is caused because acids are let into the air and mix with things like water which goes into the clouds and produces acid rain. Acid rain is a chemical reaction between acid and water; these are acids like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. these acids are produced from things like a factory that pollutes the air from releasing the gases.

Why is acid rain bad?

There are particles in the rain that is bad for people so when it does into people's lungs it causes lung damage like pneumonia and bronchitis and even permanent lung damage if you breathe in the fumes.

Where in the world is the worst acid rain? Why?

China has the worst acid rain because it pollutes the air the most with sulfur dioxide. 

2 interesting fact about acid rain:

Acid rain can be caused by volcanic eruptions and coal.

Acid rain does not rot your skin and doesn't smell or taste different from normal air.

What is the meaning of this song:

This song is about how everyone wants peace and people don't want the fight in the Vietnam war to continue. This song was made because many believe that their country couldn't be fighting in a war that has nothing to do with them, and many thought that the war shouldn't have started to begin with so everyone started to fight for peace in their country.

This line proves this as all they want is peace and are trying to tell people to give peace a chance hence the name give peace a chance: (This line is the chorus)

This song became a staple in anti-war song and this song was big on the movement for countries like America because why should they be fighting in another country civil war.

How do film aspects show meaning in John,G Avildsen's film "The Power of One"?

S: In the concert scene, we hear native South Africans sing a song in their language that was written by P.K. the main character.

E: The joy was lead by a native singer and the rest of the tribes sung harmoniously , whilst Doc played the piano and P.K. composed the music.

X: The song made the audience feel hopeful and it was moving. This was because P.K. - through the singing - brought the tribes together.

X: The purpose of this was to help show that P.K. was the mythical figure of the Rain-Maker.

X; The singing combined with long shots also shows the harmony of the natives as they are all sitting nicely together.

Y: The singing can be compared to the singing at the boxing match, as the now freed natives sing to P.K. to show him they think he is the Rain-Maker. Both lots of singing give a sense of hope for the native South Africans.

Perspective of the Beatles Tour NZ

People view and perspective for the Beatles in New Zealand was different and lots of people didn't want the Beatles to tour New Zealand but heaps of people did.

Why people didn't want the Beatles to tour NZ: 

People in New Zealand didn't think that the youth of New Zealand could handle the Beatles as they thought they would be out of control like the Australian youth was when they toured Australia. Also, people thought the youth would turn bad and become devilish once the Beatles left. These statements became half true and the youth did go really psycho when the Beatles were here. This is because the youth of New Zealand at the time was being "inappropriate" whenever they hear the Beatles music. There were lots of reasons why people didn't want this and it even came to things like religions, traditions, and the views they had against the Beatles.

Why People wanted the Beatles to tour NZ:

New Zealanders wanted the Beatles to tour because many thought that because of this the Beatles would become the way of many, as people would finally get to express themselves and break traditions on how the culture used to be. Many New Zealanders were happy that they finally got to hear the music that they love. Many thought that this was great for everyone, people who loved the Beatles could see the Beatles play, also the Beatles would make money from this so that's why heaps were for the idea of the Beatles to come to tour New Zealand.
