How does this compare to a song from the 1940s: This song is very different from a song from the 1940s because it's not a standstill song that is very structured but instead upbeat and loud compare to the basic songs from those times. These songs were huge to help with culture and how people present themselves in today's day and age. This song was a lot more active and upbeat compared to the 1940s.

Why is this song important to New Zealand: This song is important to New Zealand because we fought in this war and on the last day of the war they played this song as we won. We as a country remember this day as ANZAC day where this song is an important part of the day.

What is the history of the last post and when is it played: This song has a history behind it as it reminds people of New Zealand darkest time which was in the war but it also reminds us of the people who helped win the war for our country so it was played to show that the war is over now. We play this song on ANZAC day to show honor to our soldiers that fought in the war. We also play this when someone that was in the war dies out of respect for his services.

What does this song represent: This represents that the war is over and that we won but not without losses as we had many soldiers die fighting for us. This song is played with honor and is a big part of New Zealand and the ANZACS as the song is huge for them. This song is a memorial song.

Testing pH

 Aim: To see if everyday chemicals and bases color on the pH scale

Method: 

1. Get blue litmus, red litmus, and universal indicator.

2. Get spotting tile and safety glasses.

3. get some everyday chemicals and place them in your spotting tiles.

4. add red litmus paper, blue litmus paper, and UI (Universal Indicator) to your chemicals and see what color they turn.

5. Write down and record your results.

Discussion: If it turns red it is an acid and if it goes blue it is a base. For most of the mine if one went blue they all did apart from one which went yellow but it should still be a base as two out of three said it's a base. Most of the things that I tested were blue which means they were a base but toilet cleaner is an acid. An acid has hydrogen (H+) in it which makes it acid and a base has hydroxide (OH-) in it instead. These colors turn these color because of the pH level it is. The Red color has a pH level of 1 while violet has a pH level of 14. The lower the number of the pH scale it is the more acidic it is, the higher the number on the pH scale the more base it has. If the color you get is green that means that it is neutral and has a pH level of 7. You won't get different colors from red and blue if you are using litmus paper so that's what universal indicator is used for. The pH scale numbers have a color that goes with them here is a photo that shows the number and the color it goes with. If you don't know what alkaline is it's the word used instead of the base in science.

Conclusion:

This shows if these acids and bases are acids or bases based on the color of the pH scales and what these tools show. My experiment did work apart from one which may be a bit faulty as I got different results the results usually stay true. Next time I would test a bigger variety and see if different chemicals and bases show different colors and results. This experiment does work and it is great to see how everyday tools pH levels.

This shows that they used their voices and called the issue out instead of physically fighting for freedom.

That Parihaka is rightfully theirs and would always be the native people's land. This also shows that they don't want to give up the land as they had it before the British came.

This shows that the people of Parihaka are very determined to keep their land and to take action.

Because it shows that Parihaka affected heaps and that the people that were taken and sent to jail needed justice.

That heaps of the native people were taken and sent to jail and they had to fight back for the land that was rightfully theirs this was huge for things like equality and the treaty of Waitangi

This has hurt many people in many ways. This was bad as it still has people disliking the people who aren't from their land and arent native. People were abused, raped and even more, things were done to them.

1. I have tried Javelin for the first time this year and I enjoyed learning about the correct way to throw a javelin.

I improved on my 100-meter sprints the most as I wasn't that fast at it last year but I improve my speed and fitness level.

I Enjoyed Long Jump the most as I enjoy going that distance and that long of a jump. I also like that you see improvements every time you jump.

I would like to do more of these activities as they were fun and you could see improvements straight away.
